I'm going to be perfectly honest and say I wasn't a big fan of this Sonic Marathon.

Now, part of that might very well be because I was never a big Sonic fan, but I largely think it was because of the game list. In my opinion, basing half of the marathon on the "fall" on Sonic and many of the bad games that exemplify that fall wasn't a good idea in hindsight, because it was just bad game after bad game. "So good it's bad" only goes so far and by the end I wasn't having fun watching the marathon anymore like I would with another of your marathons. Maybe it could have been improved with more good games (if there were any more to add), maybe it could have been improved by switching up the order of the games so a bad game was followed by a good one, maybe it could have been improved by throwing in bad Sonic games that aren't the standard 3D platformers. Ultimately doesn't matter now that it's over with.

Either way, I would suggest that future marathons don't put so much emphasis on bad games. I'm all for the occasional bad spin-off being thrown in the mix, but I don't feel they should be a large part of the marathon like they were in this last one.

Well, it's not really Tim's fault that so many games are bad. It's really SEGA's fault. And you can't exactly have a decent Sonic marathon without having these games because, you can't just blatantly ignore games that were released by SEGA itself...

Then you probably wouldn't have liked the Bad Games Minithon.

Then doesn't that say that doing a Sonic marathon might not be the greatest of ideas?

I did not see the first Sonic marathon, so I can't comment on the quality of that compared to the recent one. But personally I don't feel a marathon can be carried on 4 good Genesis games and a bunch of decent-to-horrible games. Maybe a minithon or a 24-hour marathon, but not a full-length 72+ hour marathon.

For the record, I am not saying that the suggested Banjo-Kazooie would have been better. It might of ended up worse, I can't say.

I watched some of it, and I'm okay with it for two reasons. Firstly, because it wasn't a full-length marathon. Secondly, because all the games were distinct from one-another. Even if they all sucked, moving on to a new game was moving on to something different. While all the bad Sonic games played have their own quirks, moving from controlling 3 characters at once to using guns to playing some levels as a werewolf isn't enough of a change in gameplay to remain interesting, in my opinion.

I personally love watching bad games being played, because that way, I don't have to play them myself... (hehehe... Sonic '06).

And there isn't anything wrong with that. All that I am saying is that, in my opinion, it was way too much of a good(?) thing.
